And how didst Thou manage to
cradle these delicate petals
amidst thorns such as these ?
and yet bruise them not..., I wonder !

And how can my heart not be but glad
when they dance in the evening breeze ?
Ah ! how I adore thy craft,
Oh Master flower maker !

Mortal

And how could I sit in silence
knowing that you were grieving
and watch as a million worries
etch their lines on your face ?

And how could I watch those lovely eyes
turn misty with mournful tears
knowing the joy that they once contained
and not be moved ?

And how could I stand by and watch
the years take their steady toll
on one who seemed almost immortal
slowly fade before my very eyes ?

And yet, I stand a mere mortal, a mute spectator
as time marches on to a distant drumbeat
knowing that the one who sent you
loves you more than I.

Only the Heart Knows

My feelings run real deep
And it shows, for It cant hide
Neither could I , even if I tried
'Coz my feelings ain't skin deep

Oh yeah, I may cry !
Whimper, fret and frown...
And may wear many a hat, even a crown!
If that's what it takes to give me my 'high'

I'm only human, I reason
Held prisoner by emotion
'Coz Only the heart knows
Of its highs and lows.

The Tide

The need to control the flow of events
Has let me feel the need
To let go of the need
To control the flow of events

Paradoxical as it seems
Its not difficult to understand
The future cant be dealt with a magic wand
When the present is bursting at its seams

When you let go of trying to hide
And go with the flow...
Doesn't every wave know
That its not the sea that controls the tide ?

In another Life, I was a different man
In another Life, I had not met the son of man
In another Life, the name of the game was to win
In another Life, I was living in sin


In another Life, It was all about me
In another Life, I was looking out only for me
In another Life, I had to be on my own
In another Life, I was all alone


Came a day...
When He walked past my way...
Only His shadow did fall on me
And I was a different me !

Another Life, another chance, He gave to me
This was the plan He had for me
He called me out from the grave as He once did Lazarus...
This is the plan that He has for all of us.
